Fri 3rd
This morning we went to post some more stuff back to L.A. only a smallish box this time. We stopped at a home depot and found the grinder I wanted, but it will wait till closer to the end of the trip so that I don't have to carry it for the next 3-4 thousand miles.
We headed to Gillette but not on the interstate this time, we took Hwy 14/16 and in places it looked a bit like home, quite green but a total lack of stock on the ranches. One ranch we passed was called the Flat Broke Ranch.
We stopped for a beer and a snack at a place called Spotted Horse. They claim they have the coldest beer and the best burger in town. I would not disagree, it is one building on top of a hill, on a quiet Hwy in the middle of nowhere.
We pulled into Gillette, booked in and I went for a look around, it didn't take long but I did see a train that had 3 airplane bodies on the wagons, something you don't see every day.
Another dip in another pool with poolside drinks, then across the road to an all you can eat feed. They offered meat and lots of seafood. We watched the guy next to us, show his granddaughter how to crack the crabs legs to get the meat out and decided that it was too much work. While we were there Another thunderstorm rolled through.
