Wed 8th
Today we went to Bear Country USA, but on the way we had to go to Wallmart (again) to top up the phones. Vicki decided we needed some water so she bought 28 bottles, only $4 and we made them all fit on the bike.
At Bear Country you normaly cruise through the animals in your car, bikers are usually given a complementry car but during bike week they put us in an open air bus, we went on a 40 minute tour through mountain sheep, goats , actic fox, raindeer, elk and trough the Black Bear area, there were bears everywhere, playing in the water, resting in the shade and walking along the road.
They only have one Grizzly Bear but he was obviously hiding from the heat.
We also went through the Buuffalo. Back in the day there were 5 million, the white man almost wiped them out, killing thousands at a time.
The bombers got down to 711 animals before Teddy Rosevelt made it illegal to hunt them. Numbers are now up to about 170,000.
We returned to the motel via Keystone. I didn't think we had been there, but recognised it straight away (deja vu?)
Dinner with the Priors was at Deadwood Gultch.
